Michael Smith is the Playwright-in-Residence for the Shakespeare & Originals Theater Company in Durham, NC. Professionally produced plays include the comedies A Mouthfulla Sacco and Vanzetti (2000); Life, Love, Cows (2001); Hurricane Salad (2002) and Necromeo and Juliet (1996) His new translation and adaptation of Goethe's Faust will be produced by Shakespeare & Originals in April 2004.
